Kelly’s Flooring in High Ridge is keeping up with the times by offering new flooring options, like luxury vinyl flooring, sales associate Christy Eads said.

The Murphy family, which has been in the local flooring industry since 1978, owns the store at 2311 Little Antire Road.

Eads said a lot of customers are interested in having luxury vinyl flooring installed in their homes, adding that Kelly’s Flooring offers the luxury vinyl in faux tile or hardwood in a variety of shades and textures.

“(Luxury vinyl) can give the appeal of wood or the appeal of tile, and it’s waterproof,” Eads said. “It won’t peel up and it’s nice and sturdy. It’s really good for families, (and) I’m always pleasantly surprised at how many people who have pets use the luxury vinyl.”

Kelly’s is a full-service flooring store, also offering carpet, hardwood, laminate and tile options. According to its website, Kelly Flooring serves the greater St. Louis area, including High Ridge, Cedar Hill, Dittmer and House Springs.

Larry, Kelly and Tom Murphy own and operate the business.

Eads said she has worked for the company for four years and appreciates its “small, family-owned aspect.”

When customers visit the High Ridge showroom, Eads said they are often greeted by the Murphy family dog, Noodles.

“We have a lot of return customers or referred customers,” she said. “We have generations of families coming in who say, ‘You’ve done my mom’s flooring; you’ve done my grandma’s,’ that sort of thing.”

Kelly’s is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Saturdays are by appointment only. The showroom is closed on Sundays.
